The Business Talent visa is designed to attract the highest calibre business people who are owners or part owners of a business to contribute to the success of a new or existing Australian business. This visa requires State or Territory government sponsorship and is a permanent visa that provides the holder with Australian permanent residence.

Successful applicants will be expected to have a genuine and realistic commitment to work in Australia and participate in the management of a new or existing Australian business.

AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS TALENT VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS

The Business Talent Visa is for high calibre business people who have sponsorship from a State or Territory government to contribute to the success of an Australian business. Applicants must be under 55 years of age unless exceptional circumstances exist.

In order to qualify for this visa type, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have a successful business career. In particular, applicants are required to provide evidence of an annual turnover of at least AUD$3,000,000 for at least two of the last four years before lodging the application.

In addition to providing evidence of successful business career, applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient business and personal assets to settle in Australia. As part of the application process, applicants are required to prepare a detailed business proposal for their intended business endeavour in Australia.

AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS TALENT VISA ENTITLEMENTS

Successful applicants and holders of an Australian Business Talent visa become permanent residents of Australia. As a permanent resident, you are entitled to live, work and study in Australia on a permanent basis. When you are granted permanent residence, a visa label is placed in your passport as proof of your permanent residence status.

Additional benefits of Australian permanent residence include access to government-subsidised healthcare (Medicare), certain social security benefits and the ability to apply for Australian citizenship.
