This permit is for when are sent for temporary employment in the Republic of Lithuania when your permanent place of employment is in a foreign country.

When the employer needs a work permit for the foreign national whose permanent place of employment is in a foreign country and the foreign national is sent for temporary employment in the Republic of Lithuania, the following documents have to be submitted by the Lithuanian company, accepting the foreign employee:

1. Application of the set form;
2. Copy of passport or a corresponding document for going to a foreign country acknowledged in the Republic of Lithuania;
2. Certificate of Registration of the foreign company or the extract from the Register of legal persons of the foreign state;
3. Diploma or other document proving the foreign national’s qualification legalized or approved by Apostille;
4. Certificate of the competent institution about the acknowledgment of vocational qualifications if the profession is regulated in the Republic of Lithuania. The information on the professions regulated in the Republic of Lithuania is provided by the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education;
5. Contract between the companies;
6. An individual employment contract between the foreign national and her/his permanent employer
7. Description of the working position, which a foreign national is going to take.
An application to issue a work permit when the applicant’s permanent place of employment is a foreign country, or when an applicant is highly qualified, the application shall be examined within 20 days from the date of receipt of the application at the local labor exchange.
