United Kingdom - Passport & Nationality - British Citizenship by Descent - Mother born in BOT
A person born to a mother who was born in a British Overseas Territory can normally rely on the reclassification rules enacted in recent years that allowed British Overseas Territory Citizens (or BOTCs) - by birth or by descent from a mother - to become full British citizens. If the applicant was born out of wedlock, it will complicate - but not invalidate - the process.
