Slovenia - flag Slovenia - Family & Partner - Family Reunification Permit

Family reunification is possible only if a relative is holding a permanent residence permit or has held a temporary residence permit for the last year.

The application for a temporary residence permit for the purposes of family reunification must be submitted on behalf of the family member by a Slovene/EU citizen with registered residence in the Republic of Slovenia or by a foreigner who already has a permanent or temporary residence permit in the Republic of Slovenia (this does not apply to foreigners who have a temporary residence permit for the purpose of seasonal employment).

The application may be submitted either to the diplomatic consular representation of Slovenia abroad or at the administrative unit in the area where the family member will reside after arriving in the Republic of Slovenia.

The family member is granted a residence permit for the same period of validity as the period of temporary residence of the foreigner claiming the right to family integrity.

The application must be accompanied by the following:
• an excerpt from the marriage register which must not be older than three months,
• excerpts from the birth register for the children,
• proof of guaranteed subsistence funds,
• proof of health insurance for the family members,
• a certificate on non0criminal record for the adult next of kin issued by the mother country, certified photocopies of the valid passports of the family members.

WhatPassport.com is a specialist UK Nationality and British Citizenship site offering an online search and assessment. Claims to hold a British Passport can be complex and the site offers a quick, simple search to give you the answers. While many people qualify for the UK Ancestry Visa based on holding a Commonwealth passport with a UK born grandmother or grandfather, we have found that if you have a grandparent born in the UK, or if your mother is British or your father is British, then there are several scenarios where you can claim British Nationality and the right to hold a British Passport. This stems from Britain’s collection of British Colonies, British Protectorates and British Protected States in the middle of last century and the Nationality rules concerning what are now the countries of the Commonwealth.
