In 2010, legislation was introduced to remedy gender discrimination in the 1983 British Nationality Act. This solution arises impacts a person:

1) who was born between 01.01.1949 and 31.12.1982;

2) whose parents were married before their birth;

3) whose mother was registered as a Citizen of the UK & Colonies before the applicant's birth on account of being married to a British husband; AND

4) who has the Right of Abode through a grandparent born in the UK.
