United Kingdom - Passport & Nationality - British Citizenship by Double Descent (PG 1948 5aROAM Colony)
For this solution, it is important to know where the applicant's mother and maternal grandparents were born.
This is an extremely complicated and rare circumstance. This unique set of circumstances will entitle the candidate to British Nationality. It is based on some key factors:
- The Candidate being born between 01/01/1949 and 01/01/1983;
- A mother born before 01/01/1949 in a former British Colony (but not a British Protected State, Protectorate with ETJ, UK Trust Territory, Foreign Territory with ETJ or UK Mandated Territory);
- The candidate was born in wedlock;
- A Paternal Grandfather or Maternal Grandmother born in the UK; AND
- The candidate must have been born after the independence of their mother's country of birth (though there are some exceptions to that).
The mother must have escaped the Automatic Loss provisions enacted upon independence.
