A claim to British Citizenship by Double Descent is possible through the father's bloodline. This particular solution requires the following set of circumstances:
- The applicant was born between 01.01.1949 and 31.12.1982 in a country that was a Commonwealth country at the time of their birth;
- The applicant's Paternal Grandfather (their father's father) must have been born in the United Kingdom; AND
- The applicant must NOT have gained citizenship of their country of birth at the time of their birth (i.e. it must not have occurred automatically in law).
