United Kingdom - Passport & Nationality - British Overseas Citizen (BOC) - Colony (Father by Descent PGF)
This solution relies on the accurate input of the country of birth of your father and paternal grandfather. A British Overseas Citizen (BOC) solution can arise where:
The APPLICANT was born:
- between 01.01.1949 and 31.12.1982;
- before the independence of their father's country of birth; AND
- in an independent country or a country that became independent before the independence of the father's country of birth.
The FATHER was born:
- in a former British Colony that remained a former British territory after 1948; AND
- in a country that gained its independence before his father's (i.e. the applicant's paternal grandfather) country of birth gained its independence.
In some instances, it is possible that the applicant can upgrade this BOC status to full British nationality.
